About Eoin Bassett

Life in prison, that’s what I do…

…and drugs trials, fire fighting, U.N. missions to Africa, elections, dock work, retail crime, planning, interior design, pubs, islands, speed limits and fish.

All thoroughly researched, written to spec and on time.

I'm a journalist, editor and travel writer. For a decade I’ve been writing feature articles and reports for magazines.

As an editor I know the joy – and in some cases rarity – of getting clear, clean copy on time. As a journalist I know the satisfaction of filing thoroughly researched and well-written articles.

I’ve held senior editorial positions in print and online media organisations, overseen magazine production and edited books, newsletters and brochures. I’ve also brought my practical skills into the classroom, teaching sub editing and feature writing to students studying a Diploma in Journalism.

I’ve traveled throughout Mexico, hung around Havana, eaten my way across France and Spain, traversed Turkey and lived in the mountains of Switzerland. I play the saxophone badly, like to fly fish, and have a passion for archeology and landscapes.

I hold an MA in Journalism from Dublin City University and a BA in History and Classical Studies from NUI Maynooth. To see a small sample of my published work follow the link to the articles page.

I sometimes take photographs to accompany my features and a selection of images can be found on the photos page.

Whether you want fantastic features, or an efficent editor for that last-minute turn around, I'm your man. contact me.
